Colocasia esculenta `Chicago Harlequin gallon

A striking new "elephant ear," with large soft leaves marked randomly with light and dark green. The stem of each leaf is vividly striped with cream and green vertical stripes. The giant green leaves are each blotched with large lighter green random sectors. The highlight however is the tall 5' stems which are vividly striped with cream and green vertical bands. Spreads rapidly in very wet areas by means of above ground rhizomes and can easily grow as a pond or bog plant. Very cold hardy but will die down in the winter when temperatures drop below 45° F.
